All houses have a set of ranks. Each rank is classified into three subgroups to make it simpler to tell where a character is in the pecking order. These are as follows: High Class, Mid Class, and Low Class. Ranks in Low Class are generally all at the same level, then in Mid Class the pecking order begins (the higher on this list, the more powerful and respected.) Then in the High Class, the rankings are extremely critical.
It's a bit of a long read, but it's not too bad!
Kings and Queens.
This is the rank for the absolute leader, the head honcho, the boss. Generally it is either filled by two or one people, (king and queen, queen and queen, or king and king). This rank commands all of the people in their House and runs the show, basically. If they are to have children, it is not uncommon that they pass the role of leader onto their young. The young of the Kings and Queens are often called Lords and Ladies, or Lordlings. This rank will never be up for audition and will only be given to you, though it is usually occupied only by admin's characters.
The King or Queen's Guard.
Often referred to in short as, 'the Guard', these are the Kings or Queens' inner circle. Often they are Knights whom are wise and are set to defend and help the leaders. Extremely experienced, these men or women are often older, and have known hardship. They take a vow when they join the Guard, stating that they lay down their lives for the current leaders of the House. They sometimes sit in on Counsel meetings (see below), and need not be invited to. They take all orders only from the leaders. Normally, there are eight of them (four for each King or Queen). This rank may be auditioned for, but only if there are open spots. The admins will be critical of whom they pick for this.
The Counsel.
The Counsel is an important position. They are like the Jury, and they have meetings about ongoing events and talk through strategies and solutions to vote upon. They are often diplomatic and intelligent. Meetings are often set up by the Leaders, but they can be constructed without them. The Leaders almost always sit in on these meetings, and members of the Guard may too. The Counsel is also in charge of keeping an eye over the population and taking in complaints. They decide on solutions to small problems together, and help the leaders to handle the population in times of strife. If one should need help, they will often seek out a Counsel member or their Squire. (See Mid Class, and find "Squires). There are nine Counsel members maximum, though there have been periods where there are fewer. they usually only take orders from the Leaders themselves, though have taken orders from the Guard or the Leader's Squires (passing on messages, etc.) This rank may be auditioned for if there are slots open, or awarded to you. The admins will be critical of whom they pick.
Maesters.
The Maesters are basically the Doctors, and the masters of all the books and records in each House. They record deaths and events as well as tending to the sick. They're very maternal and caring, and are usually gentle people. They are extremely talented in healing and very knowledgeable in different herbs and methods of curing others. They are trained for a very long time to be able to do this daily. They take orders usually from the Counsel, the Leaders, or the Guard and their Squires. This rank has a total of four members at all times- if a Maester is dying, his Squire will take up the job after he passes. This rank must be auditioned for, and only if spots are open. The admins will be critical about whom they choose.
The Bankers.
The Bankers are, well, as they sound to be. They handle all transactions and money balances that their House has. They're great at Mathematics, and very hard workers. It is a stressful job. There are usually two Bankers, plus their Squires, which is a total of four people usually working at organizing the money. They may take orders from the Counsel and the Queens or Kings, and do not often take orders from the Guard since there isn't a big reason for the Guard to speak with Bankers. This must be auditioned for, if there is an open rank. The admins are pretty relaxed about this role and will let most types of characters in.
The Knights.
Knights are Queen and King approved fighters whom are like the law of the population. They're responsible for settling domestic disputes and for keeping people in line. If one suspects another of a crime, they often report to the Knights who will investigate. In battles, they often lead small
